Nashville Gets a Vibe

Nashville had introduced a new sports team in the Music City with the Nashville Vibe. The Vibe will be one of the new teams in the UPSHOT League which is the developmental league for the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

The league was created to provide professional playing opportunities in the United States while developing players who could move on to the WNBA. UPSHOT teams carry 11-player rosters and play a 34-game regular season, with 17 games at home and 17 on the road.

The UPSHOT League recently completed their first season last month with the Charlotte Crown winning the championship. The league had four teams in their inaugural season in Charlotte (NC), Savannah (GA), Jacksonville (FL) and Greensboro (NC). The league has also added the Baltimore (MD) Starlings to their lineup for next season.

Nashville will play 17 home games in Vanderbilt’s Memorial Gymnasium starting in May 2027.

Nashville has been host to professional basketball teams in the past with the Nashville Stars (World Basketball League 1991), Music City Jammers (Global Basketball Association 1991-1992) and Nashville Broncs (American Basketball Association 2008-2010).
