Nashville Kats Win Arena Crown
The Kats won in front of a sold-out home crowd of over 4,000 at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The top-seeded Kats capped off an incredible 11-game winning streak with a dramatic goal-line stand on the final play of the game.
MVP quarterback Tyler Kulka threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Malik Honeycutt in the final minute to break a 53-53 tie.
Defensive lineman Roderick Perry stuffed Albany quarterback Sam Castronova at the 1-yard line as time expired.
The victory avenged the Kats' 60-57 loss to Albany in the previous season's title game.
The Kats finished the season at 13-1. Their lone loss was on May 3 to the Kentucky Barrels 37-36. They never lost again after that. They clinched the number one seed in the postseason then crushed the Michigan Arsenal 92-76 in the semifinals.
This was Nashville’s first arena football title since the Nashville Venom of the defunct Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) won it in 2014. This was the Nashville Kats’ third season. This was their first full season calling Clarksville home.
