Maryland Charms Their Way to Women's Lacrosse Title

The Women's Lacrosse League (WLL) crowned their first league champions this weekend as the Maryland Charm defeated the California Palms 16-13 in the championship game played in Philadelphia.
Maryland jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the first half but California stormed back to tie the game at 9-9. The Charm scored the next three goals to distance themselves from the Palms to capture the title

Maryland and California finished tied at first place at 3-1 in the regular season standings. The league's other two teams, the New York Charging finished one game back at 2-2 and the Boston Guard finished 0-4.
Rachel Clark (Boston) led the league with 18 goals. Madison Doucette was the leading goaltender with a 55% save percentage.
