Having a Ball (hockey)

If you don’t know how to ice skate or never played ice hockey, there is a hockey league for you. It’s called the National Ball Hockey League (NBHL).

You guessed right. Instead of a puck, they use a ball and this league doesn’t need ice. Just a floor.

The NBHL was founded in 2021 and is sanctioned by USA Ball Hockey. The league consists of over 150 teams in 26 locations including 35 states as well as Canada, Great Britain and Bermuda.

The league is organized by local divisions and tiers based on skill level. The Elite Tier is the highest level of completion.

Teams play a 10-game regular season from April to July followed by the playoffs in August.

The game is played on foot on a plastic or concrete rink using a ball.
