UFL Releases New Teams/Logos
Just a week after the United Football League (UFL) announced it was pulling franchises from Detroit, Memphis and San Antonio, they have now released the names and logos of the teams which will replace them.
The new teams will be the Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings and Orlando Storm.
Orlando has a long history of outdoor football teams in leagues which failed.
- Florida Blazers - World Football League (1974)
- Orlando Renegades - United States Football League (1985)
- Orlando Thunder - World League of American Football (1991-1992)
- Orlando Rage - XFL (2001)
- Orlando Apollos - Alliance of American Football (2019)
- Florida Tuskers - United Football League (2009-2010)
- Orlando Guardians - XFL (2003)
Columbus previously had the Ohio Glory in the World League of American Football playing only one season in 1992.
Louisville is a newcomer with no previous franchises in outdoor leagues.
In addition to the new teams, the UFL also made changes to the Houston Roughnecks to the Gamblers, and the Arlington Renegades will be the Dallas Renegades.
There were no changes made to the Birmingham Stallions, DC Defenders or St. Louis Battlehawks.
The 2026 season will kick off in March.
