UFL Moves Out of Three Cities
The United Football League (UFL) has announced that they are pulling out their franchises from Detroit, Memphis and San Antonio. While it was expected that the league would move their Michigan and Memphis teams due to low attendance it is a surprise that the UFL decided to pull out of San Antonio.
The league already confirmed it would move a team into Columbus, but the other two new markets will be announced next week, the league said in a statement. Possible reported new destinations are Louisville, Orlando or Boise.
I’m not really sure why Boise.
Michigan was third averaging 11,681. San Antonio was fourth with 11,105 and Memphis was last in the eight-team league with only 3,992 per game.
Despite of their poor performance on the field, the San Antonio Brahmas had a good following. Unfortunately, the city will bury yet another football team in their sports graveyard.
