Huntsville Rockets Are Gridiron Bowl XVI Champions

The Huntsville Rockets won their sixth league title in team history last weekend defeating the Tennessee Vikings 20-8 in Huntsville.

The Rockets jumped on top early with scores from Ron Watkins on an 8-yard run, Jermarious Chandler scoring from seven yards out and quarterback Chris Briscoe connecting with Rishard Goode on a 67-yard strike to convert on a Vikings' turnover.

It was 20-0 at halftime.

The Rockets' defense took over in the second half and clamped down on the Vikings.

Goode led the Rockets with 110 yards receiving with one touchdown and also had two interceptions on defense along with nine tackles.
