National League of Velocesta coming in 2030?

A new sports league is in the planning stages now with hopes to launch in the summer of 2030.  The National League of Velocesta (NLV) is a new, high-speed indoor team sport on skates with cesta-style gear and fast breaks.  The plan calls for a national tournament to showcase the sport after five years of testing and building the sport.

So what exactly is velocesta?  

There are sketchy references to the old 1975 Rollerball movie where teams will play on skates and use equipment similar to Jai Alai to carry the game ball to attempt to score.  It expected that the sport will feature some contact.

Further details are still sketchy but we will keep you informed with any updates.  So far, it appears that this sports concept is in the mind of one person.  They will need investors and financing to get the sport off the ground.

New Version of Arena Football To Return in 2025

After a rough restart of the Arena Football League (AFL) last season which began with 16 teams and eventually dropped to eight teams by season’s end, the teams which survived formed a new league called Arena Football 1 (AF1)  and have released their 2025 schedule for the 12 teams which will once again try to establish its’ place on the indoor football map. The new AF1 plans to kick off their 2025 season on March 14 with the following teams set to play a 14-game schedule in the new league: West Division Arizona Bandits Billings Outlaws Oregon Lightning Washington Wolfpack Central Division Corpus Christi Tritons Salina Liberty Southwest Kansas Storm Wichita Regulators East Division Albany Firebirds Nashville Kats Orlando Predators Wilkes-Barre (team name TBA) Two other teams are planned for the 2026 season.  Let’s hope they survive this season first. 2025 Arena/Indoor Football Leagues Preview

Are you ready for some (indoor) football? The arena/indoor football season is upon us. In fact, one league - the American Indoor Football league - has already started the indoor season.
