National Lacrosse League Begins 2024-25 Season

The Buffalo Bandits enter the season seeking a three-peat in the National Lacrosse League (NLL).  The league's 14 teams will play an 18 game schedule.   There are two changes to the teams as the New York Riptide relocated to Ottawa to become the Ottawa Black Bears.  The Panther City Lacrosse Club based in Fort Worth, Texas decided to cease operations.

All live NLL games are available on ESPN+ and TSN, bringing games to fans across broadcast and live streaming platforms.  The multi-year media rights agreement signed prior to the 2021-22 season and renewed prior to the 2024-25 season between the NLL and ESPN gives ESPN and ESPN+ exclusive rights in the U.S. and the rest of the world outside Canada for live NLL games. All NLL games will be carried on an ESPN network or platform. ESPN linear networks – with a minimum of 10 live games annually – and ESPN+ will combine to carry every game exclusively each year.  The multi-year media rights partnership between the NLL and TSN includes exclusive rights to the regular season “NLL Friday Night on TSN,” as well as comprehensive playoff action, including the NLL Finals. TSN also delivers every NLL game to TSN+.

New Version of Arena Football To Return in 2025

After a rough restart of the Arena Football League (AFL) last season which began with 16 teams and eventually dropped to eight teams by season’s end, the teams which survived formed a new league called Arena Football 1 (AF1)  and have released their 2025 schedule for the 12 teams which will once again try to establish its’ place on the indoor football map. ESPN 8 - The Channel for Obscure Sports

I recently stumbled on to "The Ocho" which is ESPN's channel featuring obscure sports.  The channel was started in 2017.   The Echo broadcasts unconventional and lesser-known sports competitions such as corn hole, horseshoes, darts, air hockey, ax throwing and many others. The origin of ESPN8 came from the fictional television channel in the 2004 movie Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story which was a full-time channel showcasing obscure competitions that were "almost a sport". Some of the most unusual competitions and events shown on the network include: Mullet championships (yes, I'm afraid there is such a thing) Teqball - combination of soccer and table tennis. 2025 Arena/Indoor Football Leagues Preview

Are you ready for some (indoor) football? The arena/indoor football season is upon us. In fact, one league - the American Indoor Football league - has already started the indoor season.
