Huntsville Rockets Win Back-to-Back Gridiron Bowl Titles

The Huntsville Rockets are once again national champions of the Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL). The Rockets (8-2) defeated the Arkansas Punishers (8-2) 34-18 at Kenwood High School in Clarksville, Tennessee for the Gridiron Bowl XVII title.

Unfortunately the league’s website is down and there are no game stories from the game.

To get into the Gridiron Bowl, the Rockets defeated the Panama City (FL) Panthers 37-6 and the Punishers over the Tri-City Outlaws 24-8 in the semifinals.

Huntsville won last year’s Gridiron Bowl over the Tennessee Vikings 20-8.

The Gridiron Developmental Football League is a summer football league which has been playing since 2010. The former Oklahoma Thunder won five Gridiron Bowl titles.
