Fresno Force Wins Floorball Title


In a thrilling final, Alex Neumann scored with just four seconds left in regulation to give the Fresno Force at 7-6 win over the Texas 39ers to win the Troy Cup Final.  The game was played in DECC Arena in Duluth, Minnesota.

Trailing by a goal entering the final period, the Force scored two goals within two minutes from Kim Nyberg and Melvin Medoza to regain the lead at 6-5.  William Jonsson tied it up again for the 39ers with 6:59 left in regulation.  With Texas playing for overtime, Neumann poked away the ball with six seconds left and rifled a shot into the net for the game winner.

The Fresno Force (10-2) was the dominant team during the North American Floorball League (NAFL) regular season.  The month-long season had stops in Georgetown (TX), Clarksville (TN) and Duluth (MN).  The Force topped Fort Worth 7-4 in the semifinals.  

Medoza and Billy Nillsson were key for Fresno throughout the season finishing at the top of the league's scoring with 34 points.
