North Georgia Blackhawks Win Indoor Title

The North Georgia Blackhawks won the first championship trophy in the Georgia Indoor Football League (GIFL) recently when they capped the league's first season with a 36-30 win over the Main Street 29ers.

The Blackhawks finished the regular season in 2nd place behind Main Street, they defeated the Georgia Indians 29-22 in the playoffs.

The GIFL played a four-game schedule with five teams.  In addition to the Blackhawks, 29ers and Indians, also included the Outlaws and Silverbacks.  The season was played in Suwanee, Georgia at Silverbacks Indoor.

I never could find a website for the league but followed them through their Facebook page at:  https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100093595383607

Although there is no indication on the future of this league, my hope is that they would expand and eventually place teams in other Georgia cities such as Augusta, Savannah, Macon and Albany.  There are some good arenas in these cities which could support indoor football logistics.

Stayed tuned for more information on this league.
