Have You Tried Target Ball?
No, this isn't a sport involving those giant red balls in front of the Target stores.
Target Ball is a new game which involves two teams, two balls and one objective: hit the Target Ball and score points. It's a mixture of bocce and lawn bowling.
The Target Balls are marked by Roman and Arabic numbers from 1 to 6. Teams consists of 1 to 8 players. Each player plays with two balls with the winner scoring 25 points (for amateurs) and 64 points (for professionals). Teams change sides after 12 points are reached and there must be a two-point difference at the end of the game.
The field is marked with red and yellow lines.
Scoring:
- If the target ball lands in the yellow box, you receive points that double the number on the target ball. The ball goes back to the center.
- If the target ball goes out of bound or over the red line, the number on the target ball gets deducted from your score and you lose a turn.
- If the ball goes outside of the yellow box, no points are received, and you do not get a turn. The ball is out.
