New Women's Football League Planning April Start
The United States Premier Women's Football League (USPWFL) is set to kick off on April 24th with 11 teams in its first season of play.
The 11 teams listed on the league's website includes: Tennessee Bandits, Detroit Black Ice, Cincinnati Sizzle, Louisiana Drew's, Beaumont Beauty, Houston Doom, Tennessee Enforcers, Southwest Michigan Jaguars, NOLA Sabercats, Dayton Diamonds and Austin Angels.
Pamela McQueer is the league's commissioner and will be working with NFL Hall of Famer Fred Biletnikoff and his wife, Angela in promoting the league. McQueer invented the first women's football pad known as Zena, a Douglas Sports & Pad product along with other products to protect women from injury.
The new league joins other women's football leagues in the United States - the Women's Professional Football League, Independent Women's Football League and Women's Football Alliance.
