Premier Lacrosse League Reveals Home Cities

After four seasons of being a tour-based league, the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) revealed the cities where their teams will be based for the 2024 season.  The league's eight teams will be:

  • Boston Cannons
  • California Redwoods
  • Carolina Chaos
  • Denver Outlaws (formerly Chrome)
  • Maryland Whipsnakes
  • New York Atlas
  • Philadelphia Waterdogs
  • Utah Archers

The Boston Cannons and Denver Outlaws were formerly home of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) franchises.

It was unexpected that the PLL named Utah and California as home cities; however, it was probably a good move to continue to grow the league outside of its traditional regional locations in the Northeast.

Cities which did not make the cut where Columbus (OH), Toronto (Canada) and Dallas (TX).

While PLL teams now have home locations, the league is continuing with its touring model. Teams will gather in one city on each of 10 regular season weekends: once in each home location and in two neutral sites. Teams will play doubleheaders when the play in their own home location.

The 2024 schedule has not yet been released, but the PLL has announced they are introducing conferences this year. Teams will play other teams in their own conference twice during the season, while playing teams in the other conference once.

The Archers won the 2023 title in September.
