UBall: Basketball Anywhere

What if you could play basketball anywhere?  

I remember moving around a lot growing up and my dad would put up a basketball goal for me.  One time it was on an old tree and many places where it was difficult to dribble.  You see basketball goals on driveways or above the garage door if you drive through neighborhoods but there is a new way to have basketball.

Now you can with a new sport called UBall.

What is UBall?  This is a variation of basketball where there is no dribbling.  You have three steps before you either have to shoot or pass the ball.  There is no out-of-bounds.  The game does not need a traditional basketball court either.  The sport can be played on sand, grass, asphalt or virtually any surface.  There is one point for a successful basket and two points if taken 20-feet from the basket.  Read more about the rules here. 

The game was created by Tim Shields through a Kickstarter campaign in 2019.  It was advertised as the world's first backpackable hoop set.  You can get the equipment from their website at https://uballshop.com/ 

You can the UBALL Lite which is a lighter weight and faster setup version of UBALL Classic. UBALL Lite is anchored by packing the base with sand (for beach use) or by sand pouches (for non-beach use), while UBALL Classic is anchored by a Ground Screw.

UBALL Lite equipment costs $249.  UBALL Classic (2.0) is $399 and the UBALL Classic (1.0) is $349.
