Archers Win Premier Lacrosse League Title
It was the Archers' first PLL title and their first appearance in the championship game. It also denied the Waterdogs a repeat having won the title in 2022. The Archers lost in the semifinals last year.
Do yourself a favor and watch these highlights of the championship game: PLL Championship 2023
With the championship, the PLL completes its fifth season. Changes are coming for next season as the PLL has indicated that they will move from their current tour-based league to a city-based league. The league's eight teams may find homes in eight North American cities in 2024. The league offered 26 "home city" finalists for fans to cast votes. The finalists cities/locations are: Albany (NY), Baltimore (MD), Boston (MA), California, Carolina, Charlotte (NC), Chicago (IL), Columbus (OH), Connecticut, Dallas (TX), Denver (CO), Great Lakes, Kansas City (MO), Louisville (KY), Maryland, Minneapolis (MN), Minnesota, New York (NY), Pacific Northwest, Philadelphia (PA), Raleigh (NC), Rocky Mountain, Seattle (WA), Texas, Utah and Washington (DC). My feelings on this would be to place teams and name them with the state names instead of cities so that the teams could have a better "regional" draw. The league hopes to make decisions on the cities within the next few weeks.
