Idaho Horsemen Win AWFC Indoor Title

The Idaho Horsemen won their second American West Football Conference (AWFC) championship with a 42-20 win over the Oregon High Desert Storm.

The championship game, held at the Ford Idaho Center, had a final score of 42-20, with the Horsemen emerging as the victor. Although the Storm took the lead initially after a turnover on downs by the Horsemen, the halftime score favored the Horsemen at 20-14.

Following a halftime adjustment, the Horsemen returned to the field, outscoring the Storm 22-6 in the second half.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of details about the game.  The AWFC website did not offer any additional details which is unfortunate if this league wants to be recognized as a legitimate league.  The staggering detail that could be noted is that the only blemish on the Horsemen record was a 38-34 loss on April 8th to the Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks.  Other than that one blip on their season, the Horsemen dominated their opponents with scoring 70 or more points six times as most AWFC teams also played against non-league opponents.

With the conclusion of their fourth season, the Idaho Horsemen have amassed an overall record of 35 wins and 10 losses since 2019. Additionally, the team has established a home record of 24 wins and only two losses.

AWFC Season Recap:

  1. Idaho Horsemen (3-1)
  2. Oregon Desert Storm (2-2)
  3. Wenatchee Valley Skyhawks (1-3)
