- Major League Football (MLFB) will not play in 2022 due to funding issues. Lack of paid bills forced the league to close before their scheduled abbreviated season was supposed to begin this month. The league's four teams - Alabama Airborne, Arkansas Attack, Ohio Force and Virginia Armada - were supposed to play two home and two away games starting August 9th then a full schedule next spring. It is doubtful now that the league will ever play.
- The Indoor Football League (IFL) will expand to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2023. Owners of the Tulsa Oilers ECHL franchise will enter the IFL and have started a name-the-team contest to name the team. Tulsa previously had indoor football teams with the Talons in AF2 (2000-2009), Arena Football League (2010), Defenders in the American Professional Football League (2012) and Champions Indoor Football League (2013-2014). The new owners are looking for a nickname which will tie into their Tulsa Oilers theme.
- Speaking of the IFL, there were two huge upsets in the league semifinals. The Northern Arizona Wranglers rallied from a 14-point deficit late against the Arizona Rattlers for a 52-51 win. In the other semifinal game, the Quad City Steamwheelers stunned the top-seeded Frisco Fighters 48-41 to advance to the championship game next week in Las Vegas.
- The championship game is set for the National Arena League (NAL) as well with the Albany Empire seeking to defend their title agains the Carolina Cobras. The Empire edged the Jacksonville Sharks 68-67 and the Cobras defeated the Columbus (GA) Lions 65-51. Albany will host next week's championship game.
- The regular season has ended in the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL). The division winners were Chicago Union (Central), Carolina Flyers (South), Colorado Summit (West) and New York Empire (East). The Empire finished the season as the league's only undefeated team. Other teams qualifying for the postseason are Indianapolis Alley Cats, Minnesota Wind Chill, Austin Sol, Philadelphia Phoenix, DC Breeze, San Diego Growlers and Salt Lake Shred.
- The Inglewood (CA) Blackhawks and Tri-City Outlaws are the only remaining undefeated teams in the Gridiron Developmental Football League (GDFL). There is one more game left in the regular season.
- Boston, Rochester, Minneapolis and Austin are the division leagues in Major League Quidditch (MLQ) as the regular season winds down.
- The Florida Vikings won the North American Floorball League (NAFL) league Troy Cup defeating the Fort Worth Jaguars 11-3.
- The Missouri Thunder are the top team in Professional Bull Riders (PBR) league. The next event is scheduled for this week at the Logan County Fairgrounds in Sterling, Colorado. Next Era Energy PBR event. The PBR is a team-based bull riders' league with eight teams.
- The Whipsnakes are the top team in the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) with a 6-1 record. The PLL is a touring league without city-based franchises. The next event will be in Denver, Colorado this weekend.
- The Winnipeg Bluebombers are 8-0 and the top team in the Canadian Football League (CFL). The Bluebombers defeated the Calgary Stampeders 35-28 last week.
- In the European League of Football (ELF), the Hamburg Sea Devils are in first place of the North Conference at 7-1 and the Barcelona Dragons are the top team in the South Conference with a 6-2 record.
