The New York Empire completed their mission.  They capped the end to their perfect season with a 22-14 over the Chicago Union to win their second American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) title during championship weekend in Madison, Wisconsin.  The Empire finished the season with a perfect 15-0 record.

The Empire took an early 4-2 lead when Ben Jagt connected with Antoine Davis midway through the opening quarter.  With that lead, the Empire never trailed the rest of the game, taking a 12-8 lead at the halftime break.  Chicago continued with their defensive pressure throughout the game but couldn't get any closer.  The Empire took advantage of miscues by the Union to extend their lead to 20-14.  Chicago then had to take chances on offense but New York fended off any chance of a comeback.

New York's Jack Williams was named the Most Valuable Player with five assists, two goals and lead the team in yards.

Following their dominant Championship Weekend performance, the 2022 Empire will go down in the history books as the fourth undefeated champion in league history and have cemented themselves in the discussion for the best team all-time. After following up their 2019 title and 2021 second-place finish with another championship, they can credibly claim to be the greatest dynasty in the league’s young history.

New York has compiled a 42-3 record over the past three seasons.

In the semifinal games, Chicago defeated the Colorado Summit 19-14.  New York knocked off the defending 2021 champion Carolina Flyers 22-16 in the other semifinal game.
