Schwabisch Hall Unicorns remain
undefeated in the German Football League at 9-0.

Let's review the latest in the world of obscure American football leagues from around the world:

DUDE'S ARENA/INDOOR FOOTBALL TOP TEN:

#1 - Arizona Rattlers (IFL) 13-2-0.

Last week: Defeated Sioux Falls Storm 69-42 in first round of Indoor Football League playoffs. The top-seeded Rattlers avenged that 2019 United Bowl loss to the Sioux Falls Storm by scoring touchdowns on all ten of their possessions. Rattlers’ QB Drew Powell had five touchdowns in the first half to lead the Rattlers to a 34-16 lead, throwing for four scores and running for another. He finished with seven touchdowns, five passing. He now has 37 rushing TDs and 35 passing TDs on the season.

Next: Sep 5 vs. Duke City Gladiators (8-7) in IFL semifinals.

#2 - Albany Empire (NAL) 9-1-0. Won National Arena League championship. Season Complete.

#3 - Omaha Beef (CIF) 9-4-0. Won Champions Bowl VI. Season Complete.

#4 - Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) 12-3-0.

Last week: Defeated Bismarck Bucks 44-19 in first round of IFL playoffs. Pirates’ defense held Bismarck to just 12 points in the second half. They put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter when quarterback Alejandro Bennifield scored on a two-yard plunge making the score 30-13.

Next: Sep 4 vs. Frisco Fighters (11-3) in IFL semifinals.

#5 - Frisco Fighters (IFL) 11-3-0.

Last week: Defeated Spokane Shock 44-33 in first round of IFL playoffs. The teams were tied 13-13 in the third quarter before the Fighters (14-3) took control. Frisco scored touchdowns on three straight possessions, and Spokane (6-7) never fully made up the deficit. Quarterback Charles McCollum’s 1-yard touchdown run pulled the Shock within 37-33 with 1 minute, 30 seconds to play. Spokane failed to recover its onside kick, however, and the Fighters cemented the outcome with Demarcus Felton’s 2-yard touchdown run with 20 seconds left.

#6 - Salina Liberty (CIF) 10-2-0. Lost Champions Bowl VI. Season Complete.

#7 - Tri-City Rush (AWFC) 8-2-0

Next: Sep 4 vs. Idaho Horsemen in AWFC Championship Game

#8 - Columbus Lions (NAL) 7-3-0. Lost National Arena League championship. Season Complete.

#9 - Idaho Horsemen (AWFC) 7-4-0.

Last week:  Defeated Oregon High Desert Storm 58-37.  The Horsemen dominated and led the game from start to finish scoring on all 1st half possessions. 

Next: Sep 4 at Tri-City Rush (8-2) in AWFC Championship Game.

#10 - Oregon High Desert Storm (AWFC) 7-4-0.

Last week: Lost to Idaho Horsemen 58-37 in semifinals.  Storm trailed early and was never able to catch up.

The unbeaten Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (9-0) solidified their spot atop the GFL South standings by shutting out the second place Saarland Hurricanes (7-2) 28-0. Unicorns’ RB John Santiago rushed for 126 yards and 1 TD to pace his team.
