#1 - Albany Empire (NAL) 7-1-0.
Last week: Bye. Next: Aug 7 NAL Semifinals vs. Carolina Cobras.
#2 - Arizona Rattlers (IFL) 9-2-0.
Last week: Defeated Duke City Gladiators 60-48. Rattlers' QB Drew Powell ran for 95 yards and scored five TDs. He also passed for 177 yards and two TDs. Running back Nick LaSane added 57 yards and two TDs as Arizona dominated Duke City to clinch a playoff berth. Next: Aug 8 vs. Tucson Sugar Skulls (4-7).
#3 - Omaha Beef (CIF) 9-4-0. Won Champions Bowl VI. Season Complete.
#4 - Frisco Fighters (IFL) 8-2-0.
Last week: Defeated Sioux Falls Storm 37-33. In his first action of the season, Frisco QB Malik Henry connected on a 28-yard pass to Mark Munson which set up Jerrod Heard's score two plays later. The Fighers built up an 11-point lead in the second half. The Storm scored on a kickoff return for a touchdown with over 12 minutes left but Frisco held on for the win. Next: Aug 7 vs. Spokane Shock (6-4).
#5 - Columbus Lions (NAL) 6-2-0.
Last week: Defeated Jersey Flight 61-32. Columbus QB Mason Espinosa was 17-for-24 for 197 yards and five touchdowns along with a rushing touchdown. Antwane Grant had 101 yards on eight receptions and three touchdowns for the Lions. The Lions overcame an early 14-13 deficit with 15 straight points to take the lead. Next: Aug 7 vs. Orlando Predators in NAL semifinals.
#6 - Massachusetts Pirates (IFL) 8-3-0.
Last week: Defeated Spokane Shock 63-57. Pirates' QB Alejandro Bennifield scored on a 10-yard run in the second overtime for the win. They now have the longest winning streak in the IFL at five games. Next: Aug 7 vs. Green Bay Blizzard
#7 - Salina Liberty (CIF) 10-2-0. Lost Champions Bowl VI. Season Complete.
#8 - Oregon High Desert Storm (AWFC) 7-3-0.
Last week: Defeated Yakima Canines 30-15. Oregon has won five of their last six games. Next: Bye.
#9 - Tri-City Rush (AWFC) 6-2-0
Last week: Defeated Idaho Horsemen 46-39. The game came down to the final series when Idaho got to the Rush 1-yard line with 1:30 left in the game but stuffed the Horsemen on four downs for the win. Next: Aug 7 vs. Yakima Canines (1-8)
#10 - Idaho Horsemen (AWFC) 6-3-0.
Last week: Lost to Tri-City Rush 46-39. Horsemen have now lost two straight. Next: Bye
Gridiron Developmental Football League
The Erie Express improved to 7-0 on the season after their 28-0 win over the Pittsburgh Buccaneers. With the win, the Express clinch the Xtreme West Division title. Other undefeated teams in the league are: Salt Lake City Senate (7-0), Inglewood Blackhawks (8-0), South Beach Outlaws (8-0), East Penn Raiders (8-0), Cleveland Rams (7-0) and Columbus Fire (7-0). The Express will play the Pittsburgh Saints this week in their regular season finale.
Austria
The Swarco Raiders jumped out to a 28-0 lead to defeat the Dacia Vienna Vikings 35-14 to win the Austrian Bowl title.
European League of Football
The unbeaten Hamburg Sea Devils (6-0) trailed the Barcelona Dragons (1-5) in the fourth quarter 17-16 but kicker Philp Friis Andersen kicked two of his five field goals in the game to keep Hamburg undefeated.
Canadian Football League
After 619 days since the last CFL game, the league kicked off the 2021 season last night when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers topped the Hamilton Tiger Cats, 19-6 in front of a capacity crowd at Winnipeg's IG Field.
